Yihua Zhou received his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Southeast University Medical School in Nanjing in 1984, a Master’s degree in Infectious Diseases from Sun Yat-Sen University Medical College in Guangzhou in 1989, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Nihon University Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, in 1999. He then conducted postdoctoral research at Nihon University. From 2002 to 2006, Dr. Zhou worked as a Research Fellow at the NIH in the USA. Since December 2006, he has been serving as the Chief of the Department of Experimental Medicine at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital. Currently, he is also a Professor of infectious diseases. Dr. Zhou’s research primarily focuses on viral hepatitis and other viral diseases, particularly on the prevention of mother-to-infant transmission of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
