Guifang Xu obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine from Zhangjiakou Medical College in 2002, her Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from the Second Military Medical University in 2005, and her Ph. D. in Internal Medicine from Nanjing Medical University in 2009. she embarked on a research visit to Emory University in 2018. She was appointed as a professor at Nanjing University in 2020. In 2021, she took on the role of a doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University. Her research interests primarily focus on the early diagnosis and endoscopic minimally invasive treatment of early gastric cancer, the pathogenesis of gastric cancer, and the role of hepatic intestinal circulation and immune disorders in the pathogenesis of IBD in inflammatory bowel disease.
