Zhengliang Ma received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Xuzhou Medical University in 1987 and 1993, respectively. Starting his career at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, he was promoted to attending doctor/lecturer in 1993, and later became an Associate Doctor and Associate Professor in 1999. He received his Doctoral Degree from China Medical University in 2004, and then joined Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School. In 2005, he was appointed the position of full professor/senior doctor. He was recognized as an expert with State Council Special Allowance. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Anesthesia Center and a doctoral supervisor at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School. His research interests primarily focus on pain mechanisms, organ protection and the management of critical disease during perioperative period.
