Baorui Liu obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree at the Fourth Military Medical University. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Presently, he holds the position of Vice President of Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, and Director of the Clinical Cancer Institute of Nanjing University and the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Drum Tower Hospital.
Prof Liu has received many honors such as the Chinese Physician Prize, Outstanding Individuals in the National Medical and Health System, and Expert with Outstanding Contribution in Jiangsu province. He also serves as the Chair of the Chinese Anticancer Association for Holistic Integrative Oncology and the Chair of the Jiangsu Medical Association for Tumor Chemotherapy and Biological Therapy.
Prof Liu has implemented several national key R&D programs of China , and 10 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including one project of International Cooperation and Exchanges and one Key Program. He obtained 16 invention patents in China, and published 223 SCI papers and 5 books on clinical oncology in Chinese or English. Prof. Liu’s exceptional academic performance has earned him 34 science and technology (S&T) awards, including a First Class Prize for S&T Progress in Jiangsu Province, a Second Prize for S&T Progress from the Ministry of Education, and a Second-class Chinese Medical S&T Award. His main research interests include individualized medicine and targeted immunotherapy for gastrointestinal cancer.
