Chunhua Hang received his Bachelor’s degree from the Second Military Medical University, his Master’s degree from Shanghai Second Medical University, and his doctoral degree from Nanjing University. He was awarded the Wang Zhongcheng Academic Achievement Award for Chinese Neurosurgeon in 2011, which is the highest honor for Chinese neurosurgeons. He has also worked as a visiting scholar at the Barrow Neurological Institute in the United States in 2005, the University of Clermont-Ferrand in France in 2008, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia in 2013. Since 2007, he has served as a Full Professor in the Medical School of Nanjing University. Currently, he is the Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Medical School, Nanjing University, and the Director of the Neurosurgical Institute of Nanjing University.
