Personal Profile:

Yongxiang Wang received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Xuzhou Medical University, China Medical University and Soochow University respectively. He was promoted to professor in 2019. He is the doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University, Nanjing Medical University, Yangzhou University, and Dalian Medical University, the postgraduate supervisor of China Pharmaceutical University and Xuzhou Medical University, and the distinguished researcher of East Hospital affiliated with Tongji University.

 

He served as the editorial board member for prestigious international journals such as CPQ Orthopaedics, Journal of Research Notes, Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering, and the communication editorial board member for the Chinese Journal of Orthopedics and Trauma.

 

From June 2014 to June 2016, he participated in the 11th Chinese Medical Team Aid to Guyana, and worked as a medical volunteer for two years at the Georgetown Hospital in the capital of Guyana. He served as the captain of the medical team and the secretary of the party branch. In 2016, the Government of Guyana awarded him the Government Medal of Honor, and sent a letter of praise to China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission. His work has been featured in the mainstream Chinese and foreign media such as Guyana Television, Guyana Times, CCTV, and Xinhua News Agency for multiple times.

 

In 2017, he was awarded the title of “National Most Beautiful Foreign Aid Doctor.” He has been recognized as the Jiangsu Province’s “333” talents (second level), Jiangsu Province’s “six peak talents,” and young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Yangzhou City. At present, he has led over 20 provincial and ministerial-level projects, including the projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, etc.. He has published more than 30 SCI papers as the first author and corresponding author, and dozens of papers in Chinese core journals. His research interests include basic and clinical research of spinal cord injury and the early diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.
